Prof. Faisal Sharif
Director
Prof Faisal Sharif is a Professor of Translational Cardiovascular Medicine and Innovation at the National University of Ireland Galway and Consultant Interventional Cardiologist for Galway University Hospitals. His key area of interest is translational medicine focusing on cardiovascular clinical trials for medical devices and basic science outputs. Prof Sharif has established strong industrial-clinical partnership with incorporation of novel medical devices. To date, he has successfully secured exchequer and non-exchequer funding in excess of €30 million. He has published 3 book chapters, more than 70 peer-reviewed journal papers in leading international journals and a similar number of international conference papers.
Dr. Ir. Haroon Zafar

Dr Haroon Zafar completed his PhD in Biomedical Photonics and Engineering from the National University of Ireland Galway, MSc in Photonics and Optoelectronic Devices from the University of St Andrews and Heriot-Watt University, United Kingdom, MSc in Photonics Engineering from Ghent University and the University of Brussels (VUB), Belgium and BSc in Electrical Engineering. Dr Zafar has published more than 80 papers in peer-reviewed journals and international conferences (including 25 journal publications as a senior author) and presented his work at several top international platforms. He has received over 15 national (Irish) and international research awards and grants. His research spans the continuum from basic scientific research through to translational and clinical research which constitutes the true meaning of the phrase “bench-to-bedside” research and focuses on cardiovascular engineering and technology, medical device innovation, digital health, translational optical imaging and functional imaging for regenerative medicine.

She did MSc in Biomedical Engineering & is working on building a novel therapeutic catheter for resistant Hypertension. She is also the program administrator for MSc. ICM at the School of Medicine, NUIG.
Dr. Nadeem Soomro
He did MBBS and MSc Medicine. His research includes characterization of frequency & functionality of vascular progenitor cells from patients with peripheral vascular disease.
Masooma Ijaz
She did BEng & MEng in Mechanical Engineering. Her research includes medical device development & optimization through Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Rana Zeeshan
He did BS Computer Engineering & in enrolled in MSc Blockchain. He has expertise in Front end development. He is currently a R.A at Lambe Institute NUIG & teaches DPL at TU Dublin.
Tejaswini Manavi
She did MSc Biomedical Engineering & is currently a PhD student at Lambe Institute for Translational research. Her research focuses on TeleHealth for Chronic Heart failure management.
